  65. QUICK START
  66. -----------
  67. In order to make FULL use of this program, you will need to read the
  68. manual, which is supplied as the file MANUAL.TXT. However, to get
  69. started quickly just to see what the program looks like, simply switch
  70. to the subdirectory where you have installed the program files (i.e. CD
  71. ATH), type ATH and press [ENTER]. The program contains context-sensitive
  72. Help which you can call by pressing the [F1] key.

  75. COLOR/MONOCHROME MONITORS
  76. -------------------------
  77. This program will check to see if you have a color video card installed
  78. in your computer. If it finds one, it will automatically set the screen
  79. display to the color settings. If it finds a monochrome video card, it
  80. will automatically set the screen display to the monochrome settings. If
  81. you are using a color card with a monochrome monitor, the program may
  82. not display properly. However, you can go back to the DOS prompt and
  83. restart the program using the command  ATH M  to restart the program in
  84. forced monochrome mode.

  87. PRINTING THE DOCUMENTATION:
  88. ---------------------------
  89. The documentation file (MANUAL.TXT) is formatted for 70-characters per
  90. line, and 58-lines per page. You can print the documentation from within
  91. the program by selecting the UTILITIES pulldown menu, and then selecting
  92. the "Print User's Manual" option. Alternately, you can print if from the
  93. DOS command line simply by issuing the following command:

  97. The documentation file contains form-feed characters, so it can also be
  98. printed by various printing utilities.

  110. AROUND THE HOUSE IS SHAREWARE!

  112. The registration fee for Around The House is $39.00 (US). You are
  113. entitled to evaluate Around The House for a period of up to 30 days. If
  114. after that time you intend to continue to use the program you must
  115. register it by ordering a fully licensed copy. If you do not intend to
  116. continue to use the program you must delete it from your system.

  118. There is a file named ORDER.TXT in the distribution file set which
  119. contains the registration and ordering information, and the address to
  120. mail your registration fee to. You can print this registration form from
  121. within the program by selecting the UTILITIES pulldown menu option, and
  122. then selecting the "Licensing Form" option. Alternately, you can print
  123. the form from the DOS command line simply by issuing the command:

  202. INSTALLATION
  203. ------------
  204. The installation utility provided (INSTALL.EXE) will install Around The
  205. House on your hard disk drive, and will also check to see that your
  206. system meets all of the program requirements.

  208. If you downloaded your copy of Around The House from a BBS or other
  209. online service, you should uncompress (i.e. unZIP) the files into a
  210. *temporary* subdirectory on your hard drive, and then let the
  211. installation program install the actual program files in a permanent
  212. subdirectory. To install from the temporary subdirectory, switch to the
  213. temporary subdirectory, type INSTALL, and press the [ENTER] key.

  215. If you have obtained your copy of Around The House on floppy disk(s), you
  216. should insert the disk (Disk #1 if there are 2 disks) into your floppy
  217. disk drive, type A:INSTALL (or B:INSTALL), and press the [ENTER] key.

  220. AUSTRALIAN/BRITISH VERSIONS
  221. ---------------------------
  222. We offer 2 alternate versions of Around The House, in which we have made
  223. a few minor modifications in order to accomodate some of our overseas
  224. customers.

  226. AUSTRALIAN VERSION - This version of Around The House offers a different
  227. date format, as in DD/MM/YY (15/11/93 for 15 November 1993). Also, the
  228. screens display "Territory" and "Postal Code"  rather than "State" and
  229. "Zip Code".

  231. BRITISH VERSION - This version of Around The House offers the same date
  232. format as the Australian version, and the screens display "Town",
  233. "County", and "Postal Code" rather than "City", "State", and "Zip Code".
  234. In addition, the County "pop-up" allows 22-character entries rather than
  235. only 4, since the British do not use standardized abbreviations. The
  236. "pop-up" comes pre-configured with the counties in England (these can be
  237. modified by the user).

  240. OBTAINING ALTERNATE VERSIONS

  242. We do not actively distribute the above versions of Around The House for
  243. shareware evaluation. However, we do make them available for downloading
  244. from our BBS at 317-784-2147 (USA). You can login to the BBS using the
  245. name RMH COMPUTER, and a password of SERVICES in order to bypass all of
  246. the new user questionaires - you will be taken directly to our download
  247. area.

  286. Around The House is a "shareware" program and is provided to the user
  287. for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your friends, but the Around
  288. The House package must be distributed in unmodified, complete form. Also,
  289. Around The House may not be distributed in conjunction with any other
  290. product without the expressed, written consent of RMH Computer Services.

  293. House beyond the 30-day evaluation period, you must make a registration

  305. at more than one location, or by more than one person, at any one time.
  306. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at the same time.

  308. Non-registered users of Around The House are licensed only to use the
  309. program on an evaluation basis for the sole purpose of determining
  310. whether or not it meets their requirements. This evaluation period shall
  311. be 30 days. All other use requires registration.

  314. copies of Around The House within 30 days of first use or their license
